Kip Bench for Fiskars Village Art & Design Biennale 2019


This bench was originally designed for a "Social seating" project, which Jasper Morrison curated for the 1st Art & Design Biennale in Fiskars Village in Finland. Jasper invited 18 international designers to design benches along the trail in the village. My idea for this project was to develop a bench that tributes to nature and the atmosphere of the place. As its name suggests, I wished the work would become a place where people could sit together and share the moment or enjoy socialising with nature and birds. For this purpose, the bench needed a graceful and inviting form. Lastly, I would like to thank Fredericia for such a fantastic collaboration in crafting this piece.
