A collaboration project with Giulio Cappellini for the 60th anniversary of Flaminia
The white monolithic feel of the Aquagrande washbasin somehow resonated with the image of a chilled tofu block. Not only do they look alike, but they are similar in that both are nice and cold to touch. Tofu is often produced with a linen filter with naturally transcribed surface texture. This subtle texture on its surface is beautiful to touch. It also gives a nice texture to grab in water, and the relationship between these two was interesting.
Following such thoughts, I decided to apply a fabric texture on the top surface of the washbasin.
